Leder Haus at ARCH:ID 2026: The Busok Experience | A Dialogue Between Material, Movement, and Experiential Design

At ARCH:ID 2026, Leder Haus presents “The Busok Experience”, an immersive leather design installation by Insignio Studio. This exhibition redefines leather as an architectural material, moving beyond traditional upholstery into spatial, tactile, and experiential design.
As part of one of Indonesia’s leading architecture and interior design exhibitions, Leder Haus showcases how premium leather materials can be transformed through innovation in pattern development, material layering, and custom applications.

From Material to Experience: Architectural Leather Innovation
At the Leder Haus booth, leather is not simply used as a surface finish—it becomes a core design element. Through laser-cut leather, woven leather techniques, and custom leather printing, the material is explored as a versatile medium for interior architecture and product design.
By combining craftsmanship with technology, Leder Haus demonstrates how high-quality leather can be applied in walls, panels, and bespoke installations, enhancing both visual depth and tactile experience.
“We want to show that Leder Haus is not only used in a single color as a surface covering, but also how its application can be explored—including through patterns that we develop ourselves.” — Adianto Salim, Insignio Studio

The Busok Concept: Indonesian Inspiration in Contemporary Design
The installation is inspired by the Busok cat from Madura, Indonesia, known for its rare soft grey coat. This concept informs a design language centered on subtlety, texture, and understated elegance.
Rather than literal representation, the space translates these qualities into an immersive architectural experience. Visitors are guided through a sequence of layered spaces, tonal transitions, and material contrasts, reflecting a sense of mystery, discovery, and refined craftsmanship.
